AWWMA hosts an awards program during our Annual Conference, where individuals and/or facilities deserving recognition receive it!

Help us recognize the importance of the many different facets of professionals that are responsible for the delivery of quality water and wastewater utility services.

AWWMA AWARD DESCRIPTIONS

  • Small Water System of the Year: For recognition of the performance of a water system serving less than 2,500 individuals or producing an average of less than 250,000 gpd of water
  • Small Water System Maintenance/Operations Person of the Year: For performance of a water system maintenance and operations person working in a small water system (recipient to receive complimentary registration to the Statewide Conference in order to attend the Awards Program)
  • Small Wastewater System of the Year: For recognition of the performance of a wastewater system serving less than 2,500 individuals or processing an average of less than 250,000 gpd of wastewater
  • Small Wastewater System Maintenance/Operations Person of the Year: For performance of a wastewater system maintenance and operations person working in a small wastewater system (recipient to receive complimentary registration to the Statewide Conference in order to attend the Awards Program)
  • Large Water System of the Year: For recognition of the performance of a water system serving 2,500 individuals or more or producing an average of 250,000 gpd or more of water
  • Large Water System Maintenance/Operations Person of the Year: For a single member of maintenance and operations person that has exhibited excellent performance maintaining a large water system
  • Large Wastewater System of the Year: For recognition of the performance of a wastewater system serving 2,500 or more individuals or processing an average of 250,000 gpd or more of wastewater
  • Large Wastewater System Maintenance/Operations Person of the Year: For a single member of maintenance and operations that has exhibited excellent performance maintaining a large wastewater system
  • Small System Lab Analyst of the Year: For performance of a lab analyst supporting small water and/or wastewater systems
  • Large System Lab Analyst of the Year: For performance of a lab analyst supporting large water and/or wastewater systems
  • System Manager Award: For excellence in service to a manager of a water and/or wastewater system
  • Marty Lang Award: For recognition of the water professional who accomplishes the most with limited resources
  • Water/Wastewater Industry Engineer of the Year: For commitment and dedication to the design and construction of water and wastewater systems in Alaska” (recipient to be nominated for Engineer of the Year at the following E-Week)

NATIONAL AWARD CATEGORIES

  • Arthur Bedell Award: For a WEF Member that has displayed organizational leadership, administrative service, membership activity, stimulation of technical functions, or similar participation.
  • Meritorious Service Award: To recognize excellent performance by a water or wastewater system professional
  • George W. Burke Award: For recognition of excellence in safety for wastewater utilities
  • George Warren Fuller Award: For distinguished service to the water supply field in commemoration of the sound engineering skill, the brilliant diplomatic talent, and the constructive leadership which characterized the life of George Warren Fuller.
  • 5S – The Select Society of Sanitary Sludge Shovelers: Selection to membership is recognition of “Outstanding, meritorious service above and beyond the call of duty”. You cannot join the Society — you must be “selected” by the Society — on the basis of merit.

* Nominations received after April 15 will be forwarded to the Awards Committee for consideration at next years Awards Ceremony.
