From the President & Chair

I have been super fortunate to have been involved with AWWMA in various capacities since 2013 and I’m thrilled to serve as the chapter’s president in 2025. The association fundamentally presents an opportunity to bring all of the industry professionals together. To be effective in our roles; either as operators, regulators, project funders, product suppliers, constructors and engineers, we all need to know and respect each other’s work. There is no professional that knows it all and every one of us in the industry can benefit from being involved. Providing water and sewer services is a noble cause and working together in this industry is powerful and important. In Alaska, AWWMA provides the platform for us all to grow our networks and our industry understanding to continue providing a basic, yet vital service, that much of the pubic takes for granted.

I entered the industry in 2007 as a volunteer in Guatemala and Haiti working for a non-profit organization. Much of Alaska has similar challenges to that of the developing world. But either in lesser developed parts of the world or in our Alaskan Cities, the whole industry must pull together, so my focus is to continue building on what previous Boards have built and continue pulling people together from every corner of the industry and every corner of the State. Please join us at our events and get involved. You won’t regret it!

Thank you for the opportunity to serve as the Board President of this important organization.
